La Ceiba bars spring up here and there throughout the city. Some open for a few weeks, and others become lasting traditions. The most well-known area of La Ceiba for hole-in-the-wall bars would be the “Zona Viva”. Ritzy or relaxed, we consider the following to be “The Best of La Ceiba Bars”.

The Garage Cafe Bar
Garage Café Bar
One of the newer bars in town, the Garage has quickly grown to be a favorite. Its sports atmosphere with many high definition screens sets it apart in La Ceiba. A full international bar, ice cold beers, and best of all, prompt and friendly service, are all part of this bar’s setting. Open Tuesday through Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., sometimes later on weekends. They also have a nice snack and light foods menu for those who develop an appetite while indulging in a few drinks. Located on the D’antoni Hospital Boulevard. The bar is air-conditioned, but also has some sidewalk tables for those that wish to enjoy the balmy tropical evenings.
El Jaguar
A unique, beach front bar located in the Zona Viva, very close to the old Municipal Dock. El Jaguar offers a very relaxed atmosphere, including hammocks! Unlike most bars, they serve no bottled soft-drinks. There are a variety of homemade concoctions, normally based on tequila or rum.
El Jaguar sometimes has live music in the evenings. Food is limited, but their beer is some of the coldest in the city.La Vela Beach Club
Located on the beach, adjacent to the Quinta Real Convention Center, the La Vela Beach Club is open daily from 11:00 a.m. until midnight (except on Mondays when closed). The combination beach bar, restaurant and beach club has one of the nicest pools in town to cool off in. Full international bar with ice cold beers and a complete international menu, where you can choose anything from an appetizer or snack, to a full course meal. Very reasonable prices, great security, and a pleasant atmosphere.
