Hedman Alas and Viana have temporarily suspended their service to La Ceiba. We hope that they will soon re open the route. This is the purpose of this Travel Update. To provide you with a few alternatives that will help you travel between San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba.

The Plaza San Martin Hotel District in Tegucigalpa has several different hotels that sit next to each other. The largest convention centers in Tegucigalpa are within the district. Best of all, the area has a small park and there are various establishments, from café´s serving gourmet coffee to microbreweries.
After being closed for a few years, due to the lack of tourism, the End of the World Resort in Guanaja is open again! The resort is a small beach front property that offers full dive facilities. Honduras is well known as a Banana Republic. For some time, it was the Worlds largest banana producer and exporter. However, the two main companies that played a role in this endeavor eclipsed smaller, but not less important producers such as the Cuyamel Fruit Company.
This massive fortress was built during colonial times to defend the Spanish commercial fleet in the Gulf of Honduras. King Ferdinand VI of Spain gave instructions to build the fortress. Construction took place between 1768 and 1775. This is without doubt the most important colonial military building in Central America and is in very good condition
