Drinking Booze in the Jungle.

Ever had the Urge of Drinking Booze in the Jungle?

The general reaction to the idea of drinking booze in the jungle is that it is a definite no-no! Just imagine, you start drinking booze in the jungle, pass out and the ants eat you alive, ugh not nice! Or you go off on a walk and don’t see the snake in the tree and hold on to him thinking he is part of the tree to avoid losing your balance and get bitten… ouch! Hopefully not poisonous! Definitely a no-no!

Certainly there must be a civil, safe way of drinking  booze in the jungle without putting yourself at risk! Well after years of trying to figure this one out, I have some good news to share with you! Yes there is a safe way of drinking booze in the jungle!

You see, very close to La Ceiba, the Cangrejal River Valley, which is nestled between Pico Bonito and Nombre de Dios National Parks, both with dense, tropical rain forest vegetation, you will find a lovely cluster of small lodges and boutique bed and breakfasts. One of these lodges has a lovely bar setting, ideal to sit down and chat with people from around the world. At the very least, you will find English, Spanish and German spoken here. A full service international bar, offering ice cold beer, red and white wine and a variety of other drinks. It operates next a restaurant that offers outstanding food, with several German specialties, special vegetarian dishes, and of course, a touch of Honduran cuisine.

So you will ask, where is this place, what is its name, how can I find it? The bar is appropriately called “La Jungla” and it is in the Omega Tours Jungle Lodge complex. This is adjacent to the community of El Naranjo, only 9 kilometers from La Ceiba. There you will enjoy your favorite drink  while listening to the sounds of the jungle, some light music and watching videos of expeditions into the tropical rainforest. A relaxed, safe atmosphere that you will certainly enjoy! La Jungla is one of the most unique bars in La Ceiba!

A word of advice, the road back to town is narrow and winding, not appropriate for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages, so if you do want to try drinking booze in the jungle, I wholeheartedly recommend that you plan on spending the night at either Omega Tours Lodge or one of the nearby boutique bed and breakfasts, such as La Villa de Soledad B&B.

Enjoy your cocktail hour in the lovely jungles of Atlantida!
