Honduras 2018
I want to take the time to thank all my followers and readers for a great 2017. This year, we have positioned ourselves as an important on line resource for up to date travel information about Honduras. When things got tough after the 2017 elections, we made an effort to provide you with up to date info and travel tips. Not sure what Honduras will see in 2018. By all prognosis, it will be a tough year. You can count on us to provide you with travel info to help you make the best of Honduras this coming year.
What Will Happen in Honduras 2018?
I expect that we will see an increase in flights within different destinations in Honduras. You can protest by blocking a road, but you can’t block the sky. Honduras 2018 will see better connectivity and better flights. I believe that the runways in Copan, Gracias and Tela will be better used by tourists visiting Honduras. This would be a great way of traveling between destinations. Especially from Roatan and Utila to Copan Ruinas. I can also envision flights between Tegucigalpa and Guatemala City to Copan Ruinas.
On another note, as the government of Honduras pursues it “Plan 2020” there should be some sustained investment in promoting Honduras abroad. One of the pillars of this development plan is tourism. There is no way that you will see increased visitors to the country without a strong investment in promoting Honduras.
The air connectivity with Europe seems to be well established with the Air Europa flight that began operations between San Pedro Sula and Madrid last year. I expect to see an increase in frequency on the flight, as it is operating at good occupancy rates.

Happy New Year! I would like to thank you for a wonderful website with wonderful content. I traveled to Honduras with my boyfriend in November-December of this year. My boyfriend is a native of Honduras who migrated to the United States at the age of 12. He grew up in Tegucigalpa. While planning our first trip, I was quite alarmed by all the negative media. I am a frequent traveler who has spend months at a time in China and India and even with those experiences I was a little concerned about traveling to Honduras after doing some research. But then I found your website a what a breath of fresh air. The website is full of great, informative, and useful information. We spent a majority of our time in Le Ceiba and it was amazing. We tried many of the various restaurants, coffee shops, and activities listed on your website. all of them were excellent. I think boyfriend was even surprised at all Le Ceiba and the surrounding area has to offer. With the election and related issues we had to cancel the portion of our trip to Tegucigalpa, but we were very happy with the extra time spent in Le Ceiba. We are already looking forward to our next trip back. Thank you again for all the valuable and positive information about Honduras and I look forward to including your website on my regular reading list. Cheers.

Hi Amanda! Thank you for reaching out to us! It makes me so happy that you found our website useful and accurate. I try hard to be objective and let people know what the real situation in Honduras is like. There is a lot of bad press and miss conceptions about Honduras and safety while you travel throughout this lovely country. Hope you are back soon!

I cant seem to find any flights into Copan from Roatan, Tegoose or SPS. How can I find those?

Hi Dave! Unfortunately, there are currently no flights in Copan Ruinas from anywhere. The local entrepreneurs are working on getting several flights into Copan, but it will probably be a few months before it is a reality. Currently your best bet is to either rent a car or take the Hedman Alas bus service to Copan Ruinas. They offer service from Tegucigalpa, La Ceiba and San Pedro Sula.
