Hotel Portal del Angel is The Best Boutique Hotel in Tegucigalpa
The Hotel Portal del Angel Offers Comfort with Charm!

There is no doubt in my mind, the Hotel Portal del Angel is the best boutique hotel in Tegucigalpa. I was just there and can vouch for this statement! This week I was in Tegucigalpa on a short business trip. I was surfing the net to find a good hotel to stay in that was available at the right price. Lo and behold, I found that Portal del Angel was offering an extremely reasonable rate on line. I have always loved the Portal del Angel, which is the first and original Boutique Hotel in Tegucigalpa. But despite my liking of the property, I had never stayed there. Tegucigalpa can be a chaotic city, so finding a unique place to relax and get away from the rat race is always a goal.[themify_hr border_width=”1″ width=”1″ color=”light-gray”]
To begin with, the property is in the Colonia Palmira, a short two blocks from the Boulevard Morazán in Tegucigalpa. This is one of the chic areas in Tegucigalpa, where you can find many of the best restaurants and bars in town. Location is a big plus when looking for a hotel and the Hotel Portal del Angel offers an outstanding one! Among other things, the location is ideal because it is in a quiet part of town.

The entrance is rather inconspicuous and unimpressive. A small gate, a car port for three or four cars and stairway up to the lobby. But once you are at the lobby you get a sense of peace with a lot of class. Antique furniture that includes an old piano and fine artwork combine to give you a homey feeling. The property is a nonsmoking area, but there is a pleasant open-air terrace where smokers can enjoy a leisurely smoke. Staff at the front desk is very polite and willing to go out of their way to help the guests with their needs. They helped me get cabs on several occasions.[themify_hr border_width=”1″ width=”1″ color=”light-gray”]
Charm that you Would Expect in a Boutique Hotel in Tegucigalpa!

The hotel Hotel Portal del Angel has a pleasant, small pool in the courtyard and even a small meeting room. Breakfast is included and there is also a menu for lunch and dinner available in case you do not want to go out. But the best of the hotel is in its rooms. The hallways are ample and resemble a colonial alley, decorated with locally produced ceramics. Artwork and lamps give it a unique sense of place. Heck you do not feel you are in Tegucigalpa, but rather in a quaint Spanish colonial town. The rooms are large and are all individually appointed. The headboard, a wooden chest and a mirror all match. They are a work of art. The wood floor is a pleasure to walk on and very well maintained.[themify_hr border_width=”1″ width=”1″ color=”light-gray”]
A large desk with very good overhead light provides the perfect setting to work. The hi speed complimentary wi fi available on premises will allow you to work online without hassles. I found that they provided ice to the room and even offered me a freshly baked cookie!

Although I did not have lunch or dinner at the property, I did have breakfast for the two days that I spent there. There were several great options to choose from. I had their “huevos perico” or parrot eggs, which are scrambled eggs with onion, tomato, coriander and tortilla chips. They came with fried beans, cheese and tortillas. The breakfast was delicious and enjoyable.
If you are looking for a hotel property that is a Boutique Hotel in Tegucigalpa, with loads of details and character, the Hotel Portal del Angel will fit your needs like a charm.
