Relax in Nature…
Relax in Nature, I Could Get Used to This!
Ahhh that feeling of being in Paradise and being able to simply relax in nature and enjoy it… As I relax in one of the many hammocks available for guests at La Villa de Soledad B&B I can only relate to the slogan that they use to promote their location: Relax in Nature…

That is exactly what I am doing, and you know, it’s easier than I ever imagined! The lovely blue sky and the impressive green mountains surrounding this charming Hacienda style property, the cool breeze blowing up the Cangrejal River Canyon; the relaxing sound of the River flowing hurriedly to the Caribbean Sea, not far away; the sounds of the jungle birds, including the unique croak like song of the keeled billed toucans…
As I soak in this peaceful moment, I cannot but marvel myself and why there are not more travelers here doing exactly what I am doing? How can they come so close to paradise and not knowingly miss out on it? Perhaps they let themselves be misled by the bad reputation that mainland Honduras has, and decided to avoid it. Perhaps they just did not do enough research…
… in any case, what a waste to visit the Bay Islands of Honduras and not take advantage visiting this little piece of paradise. I have traveled extensively throughout Central America and Mexico. I would be truly hard pressed to name another site as beautiful, peaceful and safe as the Cangrejal River Valley in La Ceiba Honduras.
The bright side to this unfortunate situation is that I get to enjoy the place to myself! Right not there are no other guests to share this paradise with! But then of course, by sharing this experience, I understand that I am unwillingly risking sending to many people this way.
After catching up on my mail and social media, with the awesome free broadband wifi available in the middle of the jungle. I am now having trouble trying to decide what to do next. White water rafting, zip line canopy tours, hiking in the National Park, horseback riding to the communities… All of these activities within a 20 minute walk from my hammock! Within a 45 minute car drive, I can also choose between visiting hot springs. Perhaps I should go, kayaking in marine estuaries at Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge or the Cacao Lagoon. Or better yet, visit the idyllic Cayos Cochinos Caribbean paradise…
Now wait a minute, I am feeling some stress choosing between all of these activities! Perhaps I should simply reschedule my travel plans and stay for a few extra days and just do it all! Now that is a good idea! I will do just that and let you all know how it went! There, now I can get back in the hammock and relax in nature some more! Have a great day!
