Although a small town, there are plenty of Comayagua Restaurants to choose from! Most of the Restaurants in Comayagua are located in the heart of downtown. This means that they are within walking distance of Central Park and the downtown hotels. There are however two outstanding restaurants that are out of town, on the old road to Tegucigalpa. I am listing these two separately as you will need either to drive your car or hire a cab to take you there. Both are worthwhile restaurants to visit. The zona viva, is where you will find the largest variety of restaurants and bars. This is on the street leading east from the Municipality, on the north side of the Cathedral.
Downtown Comayagua Restaurants
Villarreal.

Half a block north of the backside of the Cathedral, you will find the Villarreal Restaurant. This establishment doubles up as a Karaoke Bar and even a disco over the weekends. The restaurant offers a nice colonial décor, with a garden courtyard and a spacious interior corridor that is used as a restaurant. Food is good, the ambiance is great and service is friendly. You can choose your table to be close to the noise or far from the noise. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Owners also have a nice hotel that is in the block behind the restaurant. A full service international bar is available here.

Ricardos.

Right on Central Park, and adjacent to the Cathedral, you will find Ricardos, truly a pleasant site offering great food at reasonable prices. The owner, Ricardo, is usually on premises and will personally look after you and make sure you are happy. Choose between sidewalk dining, which is ideal after dark, or their different settings inside. Ricardo is fluent in English, so you can ask any questions you have about the menu as well as what to do in town. Ricardos also offers a full service bar. Menu includes steak and seafood items. This is probably the best seafood restaurant in Comayagua. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7:30 a.m. till 10:30 p.m.

Sabor Colonial.
Half a block northeast of the Cathedral, in the heart of the Zona Viva de Comayagua, you will find this nice restaurant and bar. Open daily for lunch and dinner. One of the few places in town where you can actually order a meal late at night. Full bar service, friendly staff, and a great location. Food is good here!
Pique Nique
An interesting Bistro Café located half a block east of the Municipality. Soft music, great coffee, and an eclectic atmosphere make this place unique. They specialize in crepes, tapas and pastas, but also offer a variety of salads and sandwiches. House specialty? Shrimp crepes! They offer limited alcoholic beverages, basically, beer (not much of a selection) and wine. If you want something refreshing, order a sangria. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 p.m. Music is soft, and the setting is ideal to promote conversations. They also serve great breakfasts here.

La Gota de Limon
More of a lounge bar and disco than a restaurant, they also offer food here. The setting is pleasant, offering a nice colonial courtyard with a fountain. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Food prices are quite reasonable. At night, the volume goes up and there is a good dancing atmosphere. The establishment is on one of the sides of the Cathedral, in the heart of the zona viva.
Roadside Comayagua Restaurants
El Torito
Without doubt the best steakhouse in Comayagua. El Torito serves outstanding beef cooked to perfection! This is part of a restaurant chain that operates in different locations in Honduras, including Choluteca, Danli, Tegucigalpa, Valle de Angeles, and of course, Comayagua. The restaurant offers a limited selection of wines to go with your steak. El Torito is located on the old road between Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. To get there, take a left as you exit Comayagua, in direction towards Tegucigalpa. You can not miss the restaurant on your left, it has a big sign. Service is great, food is outstanding, and although it is not a bargain by Honduran standards, you could not get a good piece of meat in the USA for the price you pay here. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:30 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. This is my favorite of all Comayagua restaurants!

Lo de Kerpo
Almost next to El Torito, Lo de Kerpo is one of the best restaurants in Comayagua. A pleasant interior, a menu specializing in charcoal grilled dishes. The owner, Kerpo, is an Uruguayan citizen who now lives in Comayagua, and has put together this restaurant very much to the like of typical Uruguayan Grills. Ask for their Parrilladas, this a great dish for several persons, with an incredible value! Prices are fair, food is great and service is outstanding. Open daily for lunch from 11:30 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
