Plan on visiting the World Class Copan Museums!
There are several World Class Copan Museums in town. Although already in our archaeological tips section, it is worth while to make a separate list of museums in Copan for specifically looking for museums.
The Museum of Mayan Sculpture

By far the largest and grandest of all the different Copan museums. It is within the area adjacent to the entrance to the Copan Archaeological Park itself. The museum boasts a replica of the Rosa Lila temple. Several original pieces from the Copan Archaeological Park are on display here. Perhaps the most outstanding in the famous “Altar Q”. Several stelaes, as well as the restored façade of the ball court are here. Entrance to the Museum is an additional $5.00 US per person and is well worth it!
