Sandy Bay, Boutique Hotel Corner in Roatan

Are you looking for a quiet, unique and pleasant boutique hotel in Roatan? If so, you should consider Sandy Bay. This area faces the north side of Roatan Island and is well protected by a reef, which keeps the beaches calm. The beach here is not as white as it is West Bay, but its golden color lights up in the afternoon as the sun shines on it.

Sandy Bay the Boutique Hotel Corner in Roatan!

One of the best kept secrets about Sandy Bay is that it is home to several different boutique hotels along the beaches here. I am not talking about the fancy and famous Anthony’s Key Resort. I refer about small, intimate hotels that are quite isolated from the rest of the island. Within a short stretch of beach you will find three unique properties. Each with its own charm and atmosphere.

My favorite Sandy Bay Boutique Hotel Selection:

The Infinity pool at the Mayoka Lodge Boutique Hotel

BoutiqueMayoka Lodge is the most upscale of the three. Nestled within a tropical garden, freestanding rooms offer privacy and seclusion. Access to the beach is just a short walk. The restaurant in the main building offers an infinity pool with a breathtaking view. The atmosphere is elegant and quite private. Service is spectacular.

The eclectic architecture at the Tranquill Seas Eco Lodge

Along the beach to the West of Mayoka Lodge is Tranquil Seas. This is the epitome of a beach front eco lodge. Rooms are each different and unique. Although not fancy, they are lively and original. A great restaurant and bar offers good affordable food in a unique beach front setting. Tranquil Seas works with local special needs children. They help create opportunities for local children, and you will have a chance to help them if you wish!

On the opposite site, you will find the Blue Bahia Resort. This is another lovely hotel right on the water with its own restaurant, pool and dive shop. Each one of these three boutique hotels is ideal to visit as a guest and have a unique experience. They each have a fantastic restaurant. This means that you walk down the beach to the place next door for a unique dinner without having to go out to the hustle and bustle of West End Village.

Another nice property in Sandy Bay is the Blue Door. This is not within walking distance, and is actually kind of isolated. If you decide to stay elsewhere in Roatan, make it a point to visit one of the above mentioned restaurants. Each of these boutique hotels offers outstanding dining experiences. Who knows, you might even start planning your next trip to Roatan while dining there! So now you know that Sandy Bay, is the small boutique hotel corner in Roatan!
