The Perfect Pit Stop in Tela

Sometimes you just need to stop and cut your highway trip in half. Its hard to find an ideal place to do so. I am happy to report that I just found the perfect pit stop in Tela: Aleros Gas Station. This Texaco gas station is right on CA13 highway. It offers affordable fuel, super clean bathrooms and a nice convenience store. It even offers a limited menu for a quick meal and freshly brewed coffee. I cannot think of anything else that I could require in a quick highway stop along the road![themify_hr border_width=”1″ width=”1″ color=”light-gray”]

We are all creatures of habit. I have been stopping at the Puma Venecia gas station at the entrance to Tela. Yet I resisted the habit of doing so and drove a couple of more kilometers to the Aleros gas station. Not only are the facilities new, they are clean, inviting and staff is friendly. Hedman Alas recently reintroduced service to Tela from La Ceiba and San Pedro Sula. They chose Aleros Gas Station as the local facility to pick up and drop off passengers in Tela. After stopping here to refuel and check it out, I must say that I understand why they chose Aleros.[themify_hr border_width=”1″ width=”1″ color=”light-gray”]
Aleros is Spanish slang that means friends, partners in mischief, and is a great name for a rendezvous with your pals. I was driving from Tegucigalpa back to La Ceiba, and we needed to refuel the car. We also needed some clean bathrooms and to stretch our legs. Last but not least, I was in a mood for a good cup of Honduran coffee. We got everything we needed in one place. That is hard to beat when you are on the roads in Central America.

Heck, as we were getting ready to get back in the car we saw the perfect picture spot. So we all ran to sit in an huge beach chair to take a group photo. It turned out to be the perfect relax before we got back in the car for the last segment of our trip. I must admit, we did have some good ole fun in the perfect pit stop in Tela. I recommend you stop here when traveling through Tela.[themify_hr border_width=”1″ width=”1″ color=”light-gray”]
Many people aren´t aware of the fact that fuel is cheaper in Tela that in the rest of country. This is true except for Puerto Cortes and San Lorenzo, where the prices are equal. The reason is that these three ports are used to import fuel, and therefore don´t require transportation through Honduras. The gas station is open daily from 6:00 A.M till 10:00 p.m. The restaurant and convenience store are usually open at least until 11:00 p.m.
