Are you Looking for the Best Bars in Copan?
Although Copan has several different bars, there are some that are truly outstanding, following is our selection of the best bars in Copan:
Café Via Via
Via Via is the liveliest, friendliest spot in town. Nice background music, friendly staff and personal attention from owners, Gerard and his wife have lived in Copan for many years. Via Via is the prime get together place for travelers passing through Copan, it is a magnificent place to meet people, exchange information and have a good time. They serve the coldest beers in town; have reasonably priced drinks and food. They also feature live music and cinema nights on a regular basis. A local tour operator, Base Camp has their offices within Via Via and offers tours around Copan and throughout Honduras. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but especially lively from 6 p.m. till around 11:00 p.m., later on weekends. Located 2 blocks west of parque central. www.viaviacafe.com/en/copán Telephone:(504) 2651-4652
Sol de Copan
A rather unique and different spot in Copan. Owned by a German, Thomas, and Elsa, his Honduran wife, they run the first micro brewery in Copan. Located one block up hill from the back side of the Hotel Marina Copan, Sol de Copan offers a variety of different beers, all brewed right here on site! Although I am listing it in the bar section for obvious reasons, they also have a variety of German specialty dishes that are quite good. The place is kind of in the cellar of their home, and has long communal tables for the guests, that makes it interesting as you have an opportunity to interact with different people from around the world. http://www.copanruinas.com/soldecopan.htm E-mail: email@example.com Telephone: (504) 2651 4758
Cafe San Rafael
Although more of a coffee shop than a bar, Cafe San Rafael is the only wine bar in Copan Ruinas. You will find the most extensive selection of wines in town, as well as great selection of artisan cheeses to marry with your wine. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Cafe San Rafael if you are in need of a good bottle of wine. They also are one of the few places in town with air-conditioning for those specially hot days.
